Characteristics of a Rex

The Rex rabbit is distinguished from other rabbits by its short, plush, Velvety 5/8" inch fur that stands straight up. The ideal Rex is well balanced and should exemplify meat producing qualities, having a medium body length, well rounded hips, ribs and shoulders that will balance the rest of the body. Weight range for Senior does 8 to 10-1/2 pounds with 9 pounds being the ideal weight. Senior bucks weight range is 7-1/2 to 9-1/2 pounds with 8 pounds being the idea weight.
